The struggle of acne has plagued me for about a decade. Trying to heal your skin is sort of an experimental process, you have to figure out what works best for you and what doesn’t.
I have tried accutane, any and all creams but finally, I’ve discovered the most important aspect is what you’re putting into your body, not necessarily what's put on topically. Your skin has its own natural cycle and most skincare products out there have a way of disrupting your hormones and preventing your skin from doing its ‘job’. I have learned the best way to manage hormonal breakouts is to heal it internally by creating a stronger system inside of you, which will make it easier for the skin to clean itself.
In this blog we will discuss,

How I Cleared My Hormonal Acne?
Right when I got my first period, I started noticing significant changes in my skin. My skin was always breaking out and had a huge impact on my mental health. My insecurities started to grow and all I wanted to do was hide. It took years of trials and tribulations but I finally can say I have a grasp on my skin and know how to help others do the same.
I was deceived for so long thinking I needed this new product, or that new procedure. When in all reality, the answer is simple. It’s all about what you consume and put into your body. Along my holistic journey, I made intentional changes to my diet and started to see my skin glow for the first time in 10 years.
I focused on healing my gut and intentionally eating specific whole foods and ingredients based on their health properties and what benefits they could provide me.
Once I found what worked for me, I took note and continued to use food to heal my skin. I am going to share my go-to, easy, and enjoyable drink recipes to achieve the best glow you’ve ever had!
How Does Food Affect Our Skin?
The hormones in our body are greatly affected by the food we consume. As women, throughout our cycle our body goes through an ever-changing amount of vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Replenishing these vitamin and mineral deficiencies can have an important impact on our overall health/wellbeing, as well as clearing the skin.
Every system in our body depends on water to function correctly. With the skin being the largest organ in the body, hydration is one of the keys to glowy and glass looking skin.
You can achieve a high percentage of water intake not only from water itself, but there are also a lot of fruits with high water content that can achieve the same results. Some for example are watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, lettuce, pineapples, and blueberries.
Most fruits have a high percentage of vitamins which are vital in restoring our skin’s barrier and overall health. For skin that has been damaged by either acne scars or discoloration, foods with high Vitamin C content will help improve the appearance of the dark marks. Vitamin C is essential in the process of synthesis of collagen, which is the protein that gives skin its natural glowy look.
I found intentional ingredients to target my specific skin problems and used their healing properties to clear my skin effortlessly.
